Traditional Mohair Teddy Bear Pattern – Bailey Bear Bailey is an adorable, traditional mohair teddy bear designed by the talented teddy bear artist and toy restorer, Dave Taylor.  In keeping with tradition, Bailey features a charming little hump on his back just like the very first teddy bears once had (and many real bears have too!). This teddy bear pattern comes with a full size paper pattern and a comprehensive instruction booklet which will guide you, step-by-step, through the bear-making process. Bailey stands approximately 25cm (9½”) tall and is designed to be made using traditional bear-making techniques. He looks especially lovely made from German mohair but would look equally sweet made from a fabric of your choice (make sure you use a non-stretchy fabric for this pattern!). You can sew Bailey bear completely by hand (back stitch is the main stitch used) but also on a sewing machine too (with a small amount of hand sewing too!).  All of the stitches needed are described in the booklet.  Some great ‘How to do it’ videos are on our website if you prefer more visual ways of learning.
